Apple the company may be one of the largest on the planet, with more cash on hand than the U.S. government. But have you ever wondered about how it compares to the fruit of the same name? Of course you have.
This MBA Online infographic raises the all-important question: How does the lunch box-staple fruit stack up against the Cupertino tech giant? Which industry makes more stuff, and which makes more money?
After Steve’s sad demise, I was reading the newspaper and came across an awesome quote, “Three Apple’s changed the world: Adam’s, Newton’s and Steve’s”, so here is the history of iconic Apple logo that has been revolutionizing technology since 1984 (the other two Apples aren’t that great, specially the Newton one since I’ve gotta study about Gravitation which kinda sucks)…
The Newton Crest: 1976-1976
The first Apple logo was designed in 1976 by Ronald Wayne, sometimes referred to as the third co-founder of Apple. The logo depicts Isaac Newton sitting under a tree, an apple dangling precipitously above his head. The phrase on the outside border reads, “Newton… A Mind Forever Voyaging Through Strange Seas of Thought … Alone.”
After Steve’s sad demise, I was reading the newspaper and came across an awesome quote, “Three Apple’s changed the world: Adam’s, Newton’s and Steve’s”
The Rainbow Logo: 1976-1998
Not surprisingly, the above logo only lasted a year before Steve Jobs commissioned graphic designer Rob Janoff to come up with something, oh I don’t know, a little bit more modern. Janoff’s eventual design would go on to become one of the most iconic and recognizable corporate logos in history.
According to Janoff, the “bite” in the Apple logo was originally implemented so that people would know that it represented an apple, and not a tomato. It also lent itself to a nerdy play on words (bite/byte), a fitting reference for a tech company.
As for the rainbow stripes of the logo, Steve Jobs is rumored to have insisted on using a colorful logo as a means to “humanize” the company. Janoff has said that there was no rhyme or reason behind the placement of the colors themselves, noting that he wanted to have green at the top “because that’s where the leaf was.”
The multi-colored Apple logo was in use for 22 years before it was axed by Steve Jobs less than a year after his return to Apple in 1997. In its place was a new logo that did away with the colorful stripes and replaced it with a more modern monochromatic look that has taken on a variety of sizes and colors over the past few years. The overall shape of the logo, however, remains unchanged from its original inception 33 years ago.
The Monochrome Logo: 1998 – Present
Tinkering with one of the most recognizable logos in the world wasn’t done simply because Steve Jobs is always looking to change things up. When Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, the company was bleeding money, and Jobs and Co. realized that the Apple logo could be leveraged to their advantage. That meant experimenting with larger logos to make it more prominent. If the shape of the Apple logo was universally recognizable, why not put it where people could see it?
That being the case, placing a large rainbow Apple logo on top of the original Bondi Blue iMac (I guess that’s what it was called), for example, would have looked silly, childish, and out of place. Not exactly the direction Jobs wanted to lead Apple in. So instead of placing a somewhat minuscule rainbow colored Apple logo on its products, Apple began placing sizeable and Monochrome styled logos on its products in all sorts of places: on top of the original iMac, on the side of the Powermac G3 Tower, and in an assortment of colors on the good ole iBooks. This trend, which began in 1998, continues to this day.
The reason of the change is simple enough:
When Mr. Jobs returned to Apple, he needed to transform Apple’s image from that of a failing company into one capable of churning out sleek and cutting edge products, and he needed a new logo to match. It doesn’t appear likely that Apple will change up its logo again anytime soon, but one thing that will undoubtedly remain is the shape of the logo itself.
Well if Steve would not make this call, the MacBooks would look like this:
After looking at that, I’m sure people would think twice before buying a MacBook simply because of the logo.
Here is a video by YouTube user MattsMacintoshon the History of the Apple logo:
We have seen people doing lots of stuff on the iPhone 4S’ Siri. One such is the ‘G-Male and Siri: A Love story’ which is a reply to the previous hit of Comediva’s ‘G-Male’ that was the Google’s version of a perfect boyfriend.
What happens when our two favorite intelligent devices fall in love?
With appearances from Blackberry, Yahoo, AOL, and more, all I can say is — it’s epic.
It is always cool to see how technology products from a few decades ago stack against the latest ones. Keeping this in mind Alfred Poor and David Foster of Input Output created and designed a bizarre info-graphic comparing a 30 year old IBM PC with the iPhone 4.
It’s just amazing to see how clock speeds, memory sizes, battery capacity and screen resolutions have increased over the years, while at the same time shrinking in size so as to fit in a device that you can carry in your pocket.
So the next time someone tells you that he or she isn’t happy with their iPhone, point them here to remind them of how far technology has come.

It’s finally here! After a few weeks, the + version of TouchPosé has been released. The + version allows you to do so much more! You can now:
Use a Custom Image for the tracker
Change the color of the default tracker
Use more than 1 custom image for the tracker at once
Here’s how it works,
You enable TouchPosé+ and select your activation method.
You select your tracker (called pose in the settings panel).
Head to Pose Settings to: a) select the color of the default Pose. b) Select the custom image for the tracker.
Check out TouchPosé+ in action below:
You can add your own custom images by creating an image. The developer has sent me the specs which are (NOTE: Images can be any size, the sizes below are examples. Note that retina’s need @2x or they won’t work):
Should be saved to /var/mobile/TouchPose/
40×40 for non retina display.
80×80 for retina displays and you must add the @2x syntax at the end of the image name.
Here is a video tutorial of how to add a custom image:
Now that you’ve learned how the tweak works, let’s get on to the review .
TouchPosé+ is a nice visual tweak that anybody would enjoy. I recommend it to people who like DisplayRecorder’s tracker. It’s fast, has no lag at all and works nice with other tweaks. I like TouchPosé+ and ever since I heard of a + version coming I’ve been waiting for it.
TouchPosé+ was created by iolate and is available on the Cydia Store for $1.00.
Yes you heard it right Cydia has been changed a little bit, this is no update to Cydia, today in fact just now when I reloaded Cydia to see if any cool new tweaks arrived, I noticed on the HomeScreen there was no mention of the blobs that Cydia had saved for me, then when I looked to navigate to the changes tab I saw there was nothing known as “changes” instead there was something known as “Timeline”.
What Timeline does is, it adds a small translucent bar above the date showing a few promoted Cydia themes, and when you click on them they take you right to the theme so that you can purchase/install. But the sad part is, the first one I saw was of Justin Bieber (just trolling but I’m totally serious about the Justin Bieber thing ).
Anyway, this change has been a silent one has I doubt anyone knew about it.
As of now I have been able to spot only 3 upgrades:
Cydia does not show the blobs on the Home page until you tap reload
The changes tab was upgraded to Timeline
There is a promotion bar for various themes/tweaks (I have not yet seen a tweak link, so I’m not sure about tweaks) in the Timeline tab
As a matter of fact I had noticed Cydia not showing me my blobs a few days ago to which I had created a troll meme:
But I did not really know if it was a change to Cydia but thought there was something wrong with mine, but now I think it’s a change… I don’t really know why was it required.
I understand the Timeline thing and the promotion thing but not the hidden blobs thing. (Too many “thing” eh?)
So let me know what you guys think about these minor changes in the comments section below.
Also let me know if you guys see some other change made to Cydia.
Every now and then we see some crazy stuff but this video completely re-defines craziness:
The guy actually shoots the new iPad with 3 different rifles and and tells us why was it not so damaged/damaged, if you still don’t believe me… go ahead check it out:
